Can a Healthy Diet Reduce the Risk of Repeated Heart Attacks?

It has been widely accepted for years that a healthy diet can reduce the risk of heart disease and heart attacks, among other health issues.

But it has not been known if a healthy diet will prevent another heart attack after someone has already had a heart attack.

A recently released study looked at this question and has proven the preventative power of a healthy diet. This study looked at the effect of diet, along with traditional medicine, in preventing repeated heart attacks.

The study, released in the American Heart Association’s medical journal Circulation, found that those who followed the healthiest diets (high intake of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and more fish than meat, poultry, eggs) had a 35% decrease in likely hood of dying during the course of the study, versus those who had the least healthy diets. This study was conducted over 5 years and consisted of 32,000 people from 40 countries around the world.

Those with a healthy diet were also 28% less likely to develop congestive heart failure, 14% less likely to suffer an additional heart attack and 19% less likely to have a stroke.

Mahshid Dehghan, a study author and nutritionist at the Population Health Research Institute at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, said that “Patients don’t think that they need to follow a healthy diet since their medications have already lowered their blood pressure and cholesterol-that is wrong. The more healthy you eat, the healthier you are.”

This unfortunately parallels many people’s attitude towards taking a multi-vitamin. Many people who take a multi-vitamin feel that taking the vitamin allows them leeway to not have to exercise or watch what they eat. They think that if they take a multi-vitamin it will make them healthy and keep them healthy, and they won’t have to do anything else to stay healthy.

This is unfortunately not the case. That would be the equivalent of regularly seeing the dentist for checkups, but never brushing your teeth. You use your teeth every day. You have to maintain your teeth otherwise they will get cavities and eventually rot. Seeing the dentist regularly will help to keep your teeth healthy, but you have to do other things, like your brush your teeth daily, to keep your teeth healthy.

You use your body and muscles all of the time. Even when you are sleeping the insides of your body are moving. You have to maintain your body. If you do not, then it will wear out, and it will wear out sooner than if you were not doing maintenance.

A multi-vitamin and medications will help you to feel better, but you have to do other things to maintain health and feel good. It is not enough to just take these medications and multi-vitamins.

Usually a person is prescribed a medication because something was wrong in the first place. People are put on heart disease medications because they have shown signs of heart disease or have had heart attack. Most of these people got that way because of not maintaining their health and abusing their bodies throughout their lives.

In order to properly manage your body and to keep pain at a minimum, you have to exercise and watch what you eat. There is no way around it.

Exercise provides many benefits to your health and your body. It will help to keep you moving and keep you feeling young.

Eating right will enhance the effects from exercise. Alone, exercise is more effective than eating right in enhancing your overall health and well-being. But eating right is an essential component to feeling good and managing your overall health. Eating right will reduce chronic, low grade inflammation that many of us have. This chronic, low grade inflammation will irritate basically every process in your entire body. Any muscle that is irritated will be worse with inflammation. Any organ issue (diverticulitis, polyps, cirrhosis, urinary tract infection, etc) will all be exacerbated or irritated from chronic, low grade inflammation.

Eating right will reduce this inflammation by increasing anti-oxidants in your body. Anti-oxidants get rid of free radicals which are negatively charged particles, that when in your body, will attach to molecules and other microscopic particles and disrupt them and disrupt processes throughout your body. Too many free radicals will result in premature aging and increased pain and irritation throughout the body.

Eating right will also provide you with lots of fiber which will prevent intestinal problems.

Eating right will help you heal quicker. It will reduce overall pain and inflammation. Eating right will give you more energy. It will help you feel better overall.

If you are putting forth the effort to exercise, then eat right along it. Eating right will work along with exercising to keep you healthy and keep you feeling good. Taking heart disease medication is not enough to prevent heart attacks or to prevent another heart attack from happening. You can prevent heart disease, just not through medications. Medications will help to control a problem, but eating right and exercise will prevent a problem from becoming bad.

Eating right and exercising is the most effective way to prevent heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and to reduce pain. It is also the Pain Free Way.
