Recently big soda manufacturers pledged to cut the calories in their sugar laden soft drinks. While this may seem like a good idea, their motivations may not be completely altruistic.
Consumers have been growing larger and larger as our society’s obesity epidemic has been reaching epidemic proportions. Many consumers are now demanding lower calorie alternatives to their favorite foods and beverages.
But watch out, diet is not all that it is cracked up to be.
Numerous studies prove that artificial sweeteners illicit an insulin reaction in your body, which is the same response sugar causes. The difference is that with an artificial sweetener, the brian is not rewarded with energy in the form of glucose from the sugar. Instead the brain is left feeling empty and unsatisfied. Leaving you wanting and craving something else that is sugary.
Not to mention that many artificial sweeteners are very harmful to your health. Studies have proven that aspartame turns into formaldehyde in your body. Formaldehyde is what dead bodies are stored in. It is horribly toxic and terribly carcinogenic.
There has never been a study that has ever linked weight loss to using sugar or fat substitutes. Any study that does say there is a correlation between using a sugar or fat substitute and losing weight is sponsored by food or soft drink company. They have a vested interest in the outcome of any of those studies.
Beware processed food and drink manufacturers claims. Money drives their decisions, not the health of the consumer, their customer, you.
