Osteoporosis means porous bones. After age 30 our bones lose density, unless we do something to prevent it. The loss of bone density associated with osteoporosis can go on for years without being noticed, it is painless until the fragile bones break. It is usually noticed when tests are done to determine bone density, or when there have been more than 1 fracture in a short period of time.
